• Maintain and promote a professional and respectful workplace

• Manage overall annual production goals in line with company objectives

• Own communication for everything under supervisor for assigned shift.

• Ensure shift handoff being done daily

• End of Shift form complete

• Own handoff of pre and post startup checklist findings with Maintenance personnel daily 

• Manage all Employee time and attendance including PTO requests, Attendance policy and weekly payroll verification through ADP

• Implement and administer all direct employee disciplinary actions including performance, attendance, safety, and Swift Straw handbook policies

• Maintain training program for direct reports and cross-training within all positions on the assigned shift.

• Coach and develop all shift personnel to ensure proper business continuity

• Manage contingency plans for all plant issues including lack of attendance, downtime events or any other unforeseen circumstance

• Liaise with other managers to formulate objectives and understand requirements

• Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines

• Monitor production to resolve issues

• Supervise and evaluate performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers etc.)

• Determineamount of necessary resources (workforce, raw materials etc.)

• Ensure output meets quality standards

• Enforce health and safety precautions

• Report to upper management

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or recipient of GED

• Strong organization skills with experience managing complex systems

• Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to be hands-on in the production line, shop, or office

• Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), Google Drive, ability to learn Swift Straw’s operating system (Rootstock)

• Excellent communication skills – subordinates, company leadership, contractors, laborers

• Team player - ability to work well within a team

• Possess a valid driver’s license and insurable on company’s commercial auto policy

• Pass pre-employment drug screening

• Proven experience as production director

• Deep knowledge of production management

• Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations

• Knowledge of performance evaluation and budgeting concepts

• Experience in reporting on key production metrics

• Excellent organizational and leaderships skills

• Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
